MitV Cold Case Files:
Indiana
Debra Fulton
1981
Lake County
On October 31, 1981, 16‑year‑old Debra Mae Fulton left her home at 5644 Walter Street in Hammond, Indiana, planning to walk to the Roller Dome Rink to meet friends for Halloween. Her mother offered to drive, but Debra insisted on walking; she left wearing only a sweater and jeans. That was the last time her family saw her alive. When Debra missed her curfew and did not return home by the following morning, her mother reported her missing. Debra was found dead by the Grand Calumet River under the Calumet Ave Bridge on November 1, 1981. She died from blunt force trauma to the head. Investigators have made no arrests in Debra’s case, but it is still considered open and active. Any information or tips can be directed to the Indiana State Police or Hammond Police Department.
