In the early morning hours of February 12, 1997, the Clay County Sheriff’s Department responded to a vehicle fire in Harmony, IN. After the fire was extinguished, investigators discovered a body inside the vehicle. Dental records later confirmed that the body belonged to a 21-year-old woman, Jennifer Stockrahm. An autopsy determined that Jennifer died from a gunshot wound to the chest, and the case was ruled a homicide. Jennifer’s mother was the last known person to speak with her after receiving a phone call from Jennifer around 11 pm the night before she was killed. The car was parked just down the street from the house of Jennifer’s mother. Investigators from the Clay County Sheriff’s Department, Brazil Police Department, Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office, and Brazil Fire Department continue to work to establish Jennifer’s movements in the hours leading up to her death.
