MitV Cold Case Files:
Indiana
Jo Ann Fox
1967
Vigo County
In the early morning hours of June 24, 1967, 32‑year‑old Jo Ann Fox was murdered inside the Manor Apartments. She was discovered by her roommate at 4:30 a.m. Investigators determined she had been struck in the head with a blunt object and raped. At the time, the cause of death was not released to the public. When the case was reopened in 2018, investigators located a person of interest who had been 22 years old at the time of the homicide and collected a DNA sample. However, no DNA evidence was preserved from the original crime scene, making the case even more challenging to solve. Despite these obstacles, investigators continue to work diligently in hopes of identifying the person responsible for Jo Ann’s brutal death and bringing long‑overdue closure to her family.
Any information about the death of Jo Ann Fox should reach out to the Terre Haute Police Department at (812) 238-1661.
