Marcie Fuller Swinford

1985

Vigo County

Marcie Fuller Swinford was 21 years old when her life was violently taken in August 1985. Earlier that day, Marcie had arranged for the babysitter to come watch her four young children while she ran errands. What made this day so dark is that Marcie never returned home. Six days after her disappearance, Marcie’s car was located with her purse, keys, and groceries left untouched. On August 11, her body was discovered near the Honey Creek bridge close to Indiana 63. The circumstances of her death made it clear she had been the victim of a homicide. Although investigators developed suspicions about who the attacker was, no arrests occurred, and the case eventually went cold. Today, the case is considered open, and Marcie’s family continues to hope that one day the killer will be brought to justice. Any information or tip that could help solve this crime should be directed to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department.
