Sarah “Jeanette” Benson

On January 2, 1981, 51‑year‑old Sarah “Jeanette” Benson returned home from a shopping trip and encountered an intruder inside her residence in Farmersburg, IN. Upon entering the home, she was fatally shot by the suspect. Witnesses reported seeing a tall, thin white male, possibly in his 20s and wearing a down vest, knocking on Sarah’s door shortly before the crime. Around the same time, an unfamiliar bluish‑green sedan was seen parked in her driveway. Investigators believe the individual seen at the door is responsible for her death, but no credible leads have ever been identified. Sarah’s family continues to seek answers and justice, hoping someone with information will come forward.
