Timothy Lee Willoughby and Mary Ann Higginbotham

Timothy Lee Willoughby, 25, and Mary Ann Higginbotham, 20, were last seen on July 6, 1978, in Mooresville, IN. Nearly a year later, Mary was found inside a 55‑gallon drum in White Lick Creek with a gunshot wound to the back of the head. Investigators believe she was killed in her Clayton home before being placed in the drum. Timothy, her boyfriend, disappeared at the same time and has never been located. Although Timothy’s body has never been found, investigators believe he died the same day as Mary. He would now be nearing his 50s.
